Unlocking Gemini: Now Accessible on All Android Devices

Gemini in Google Messages now works on any Android phone

Earlier this year at MWC, Google announced Gemini's integration with Messages, providing users with access to the chatbot directly within the texting app. Initially available on newer Pixel and Samsung Galaxy phones, Google has now updated its Help page to state that an "Android device with 6GB of RAM or higher" is all that's required to use the feature.

Expansion and Availability

9to5Google first reported the expansion, revealing that Gemini is now launching in India. Currently, Gemini in Google Messages supports the English language in 164 countries where it's accessible. The only exception is Canada, where French is also supported. Google is actively working on introducing support for more languages and territories in the future. Presently, users need to have their phones set to English (or French in Canada) to utilize Gemini for drafting messages, scheduling events, and engaging in conversations.

Users must be 18 years or older and utilize Google Messages with a self-managed account to access the Gemini feature. Additionally, RCS chats must be enabled to use Gemini. To engage with the chatbot, users can simply open the Messages app and start a new conversation to access the option.

Collaboration and Innovation

Organization expert Jemma Solomon showcased how to pack for a trip with the help of Google's Gemini AI app. This collaboration aims to demonstrate how UK users can leverage the app to pack efficiently for their journeys. Google's recent release of Gemini empowers individuals to enhance productivity, creativity, and organization in various aspects of daily life, from discovering recipes to planning vacations.

Additionally, Huawei Technologies Co. is exploring the possibility of profiting from in-app purchases on its Harmony mobile operating system, positioning itself as a formidable competitor to Apple Inc. in the smartphone market.

While various tech developments are underway, it's essential to stay tuned for updates and advancements in the ever-evolving tech landscape.
