Redfin Launches ChatGPT Plugin to Help People Find Their Next Home
Redfin, a real estate company, has launched a ChatGPT plugin that will help people to find their perfect home. The plugin was developed with OpenAI, an AI research and deployment company. Using the Redfin ChatGPT plugin, users can describe their ideal home and neighborhood in natural language and find listings that suit their needs.
For instance, a user can specify that they are relocating to Houston for a new job with a $150,000 salary. They can then request the Redfin ChatGPT plugin to show them three-bedroom homes for sale with private outdoor entertaining space in neighborhoods with trendy restaurants. The plugin will provide a list of homes that meet these criteria, and users can click the links to Redfin.com's listing pages, where they can book an on-demand tour with an experienced, local Redfin agent.
The Redfin ChatGPT plugin is available to eligible ChatGPT users, and they can install and enable it in the Plugin store. Users who are not eligible can join the waitlist to get access to the plugin in the future.
With the advancement of large language models, Redfin will use AI to personalize its search even more. Redfin has invented map-based real estate search and has developed machine learning models to recommend listings and estimate home values, transforming the way people find homes to buy or rent. The Redfin ChatGPT plugin, however, can make that search even more personalized.

Through a simple conversation with the Redfin ChatGPT plugin, a homebuyer can get suggestions of homes for sale in nearby neighborhoods with similar amenities that they might not have otherwise considered."
The Redfin ChatGPT plugin is especially useful now as new listings fell 23% in March to their lowest level on record. Redfin agents report that homebuyers are having to work harder to find homes that meet their criteria. By suggesting homes and neighborhoods that buyers may not have considered, the plugin can help them find the right home quickly and easily.
"This could also help home sellers get their listings in front of a wider audience of serious buyers," Dos Santos continued. "We're just getting started, and the Redfin ChatGPT plugin is getting more powerful every day. We're excited to find new ways to use it to make buying, selling, or renting a home simpler and more affordable."
