Bhavish Aggarwal's AI startup Krutrim launches Android app; to unleash AI chatbot
Krutrim, an artificial intelligence (AI) startup founded by Ola's Bhavish Aggarwal, has introduced a new Android app for its AI chatbot. The app is set to compete with other industry giants like OpenAI's ChatGPT, Google's Gemini, and Microsoft's Copilot, as per reports from Moneycontrol.
The launch of the mobile app coincides with Krutrim's plans to roll out developer solutions, such as cloud infrastructure and mapping services through Ola Maps, on May 4.
The AI chatbot was initially launched in public beta in February, following its announcement in December. This chatbot, powered by Krutrim's multilingual large language models (LLM) known as Krutrim, is the company's flagship product.
Accessible in over 10 Indian languages including Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Marathi, Kannada, and Gujarati, the AI chatbot also supports Hinglish (a blend of Hindi and English) and English languages. The tool is anticipated to support all 22 Indian languages by 2024.
Company Development and Achievements
Krutrim was unveiled in December 2023 and achieved the coveted status of India's first AI unicorn earlier this year, post the announcement of a $50 million funding round at a valuation of $1 billion. The funding was spearheaded by Matrix Partners India.
The startup has been making significant strides in the AI industry and shows great promise for the future with its innovative solutions and language model advancements.
