OpenAI to open office in Seoul amid growing demand for ChatGPT

Chief Strategy Officer Jason Kwon emphasized the potential of Korea's AI ecosystem, describing it as one of the most promising markets globally for impactful AI innovations. Kwon highlighted the diverse opportunities in Korea, ranging from hardware to software development, catering to individuals across all age groups.
Earlier this year, OpenAI revealed its collaboration with Kakao, a leading chat app operator in South Korea, to develop advanced artificial intelligence products tailored for the Korean market.
Engagement with Government Officials
During his visit to Seoul, Kwon is scheduled to meet with representatives from the main opposition Democratic Party and the ruling People Power Party. This engagement signifies OpenAI's proactive approach towards building relationships with key stakeholders in the Korean political landscape.
As OpenAI solidifies its presence in Seoul, the company is poised to contribute significantly to the advancement of AI technologies in South Korea and strengthen its position in the global AI market.
