Leo Varadkar takes on advisory role at US PR firm
Former Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has made a significant career move by joining a US-based public relations firm, Penta Group, in an advisory capacity. The company recently acquired Irish PR firm Hume Brophy, with Varadkar scheduled to commence his new role in April. Penta Group collaborates with major global entities, including Microsoft, Google, and JP Morgan.
Varadkar's Background and Experience
Leo Varadkar, a former medical doctor turned politician, has held various prominent positions in Irish politics, including Taoiseach, Tánaiste, and Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Health, Social Protection, and Enterprise, Trade, and Employment. Serving two terms as Taoiseach, from 2017 to 2020 and then from 2022 to 2024, Varadkar recently transitioned away from active politics to take up a teaching and mentoring role at the Harvard Kennedy School Center for Public Leadership in the US.

According to reports from The Irish Times, the Standards in Public Office Commission (Sipo) has been consulted and approved Varadkar's new role at Penta Group. The firm, with headquarters in Washington, operates globally with offices in Europe, North America, and Asia, employing 350 staff worldwide, including a Dublin office with 20 employees.
