A Day in the Life of an AI Software Engineer at Commencis
As an AI Software Engineer at Commencis, your primary responsibilities will include designing, building, and optimizing production-grade large language models and multimodal AI solutions across various modalities like text, vision, and speech. You will lead the full-cycle AI development process, which encompasses everything from creating data pipelines to model training and deployment. Collaboration is key, as you'll work with product and software teams to integrate generative AI into business solutions and spearhead proof-of-concept initiatives to experiment with new techniques. Additionally, implementing robust MLOps practices using tools like Kubernetes and cloud services will be paramount to your role, alongside advocating for ethical AI principles.
To be considered for the AI Software Engineer position at Commencis, candidates should ideally hold a BSc, MSc, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field. Proven proficiency in programming languages like Python and experience using machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow are crucial. Familiarity with transformer-based architectures (such as Hugging Face and spaCy) and experience in fine-tuning generative models are key qualifications. Knowledge of containerization (Docker), orchestration tools (Airflow/Kubeflow), and cloud platforms will further enhance your application, alongside experience in distributed computing and model optimization.
