Why Dan Niles Thinks AI Infrastructure Stocks Are in Trouble

Sarbjeet Johal on LinkedIn: #bg2pod

Technology Analyst and GTM Strategist Dan Niles sounds alarm over AI infrastructure stocks, to be more specific, Nvidia. He has his rationale.

How AI is contributing to the GPU shortage

Quite a few people have interpreted Satya Nadella’s comments on #BG2Pod as a bearish signal for AI infrastructure stocks but Dan takes his analysis to another level.

Counterpoints to Dan's POV

My rationale against Dan’s POV is two points:

  1. Microsoft started investing early on and had a 12 to 18 months leg up over others. Now likes of X and Meta are investing heavily, besides a long tail of corporations and nation states (under sovereign AI umbrella).

  2. Explanation of two new post-training ‘scaling laws’ by Jensen Huang and then reinforced by Satya Nadella on his India trip last week have had lowered some of concerns around GPU demand.
