OpenAI announced on the 13th (local time) that it will launch a "Project in ChatGPT" function
OpenAI recently shared that on the 13th of the month, local time, they will be introducing a new feature in ChatGPT called "Project in ChatGPT". This function aims to provide users with the ability to save and manage conversations akin to managing files within ChatGPT.
A New Project Feature
The "Project in ChatGPT" feature serves as a convenient space to store files and personalized instructions in one centralized location. By utilizing this tool, users can efficiently gather and organize ongoing work in a segmented manner. Currently, users face the challenge of managing multiple conversation windows on various topics, all arranged in chronological order. This arrangement often makes it arduous to locate older conversations buried at the bottom of the list.
Streamlined Conversation Management
By simply clicking on the 'Project' option in the left sidebar of ChatGPT, users can assign a project name to their conversation or task, simulating the process of saving a file. This categorization allows for streamlined access and management of conversations based on specific topics. Within each project, users can focus on individual tasks such as coding, enabling the segregation of tasks and progress tracking for enhanced efficiency.
Enhanced Task Organization
OpenAI emphasized the benefits of this feature, highlighting the ease of locating conversations and enabling systematic management of long-term tasks. Moving forward, starting from January next year, subscribers of ChatGPT Plus, Pro, and Teams will have access to this feature. It will be available for enterprise users under ChatGPT Enterprise and educational users under Edu.
Aside from the "Project in ChatGPT" function, OpenAI has been introducing various new features, including ChatGPT Pro, video creation AI "Sora", and the writing and collaboration tool "canvases".
