Pandemic 2.0: The Rise of HPAI

Are you ready for 2.0? By 2.0, I'm referring to Pandemic 2.0. HPAI - highly pathogenic avian influenza - aka bird flu - has seen a variety of very concerning mutations in the last few weeks.

A new strain, D1.1, has infected over a quarter of Nevada's cattle herds in record time, and the mutations which made this possible are on the path to making it highly infective for humans as well.

How the Avian Flu is Kept Out of the Food Supply Chain

Add to that a recent paper that demonstrates pasteurization of dairy milk does NOT inactivate the virus, meaning that infected milk can enter the supply chain AND infect its consumers. (sources in the comments)

Scenario Planning with Generative AI

Last week on the Trust Insights livestream, we did scenario planning with generative AI.

In-Ear Insights: Generative AI Reasoning Models For Scenario Planning

I did not share this scenario on the air because it's a lot. But it's a scenario you should absolutely plan for. One of the things I admire Katie Robbert MOST for as our leader and CEO is her ability to develop plans for literally almost anything. We have plans for this.

Today, there is no excuse NOT to have contingency plans. If you follow the process on the livestream, you could have your planning done in hours instead of days and weeks. That is the key differentiator from 5 years ago. Today, generative AI tools can dramatically accelerate planning so that when the defecation impacts the ventilation, you at least have something.

Preparing for the Future

Now is the time to prepare - for yourself, your business, and your community.

Infusing AI into everyday offices, just like yours. Everything from beef and milk facing the same challenges as eggs to a full-blown human pandemic... with millions of people walking around with already severe damage to their immune systems from multiple bouts of COVID.
