Google has introduced the Gemini chatbot app in India, offering support for English and nine Indian languages including Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Android users can access the Gemini app on the Google Play Store or through Google Assistant. iOS compatibility is anticipated in the near future.
Gemini Advanced Features
The Gemini Advanced version will also provide language support for the aforementioned Indian languages and is powered by Google's latest Gemini 1.5 Pro model, which is the most advanced model currently available.
According to Google's Vice President, Engineering, Gemini Experiences, Amar Subramanya, Gemini Advanced boasts an impressive 1 million token context window, making it the consumer chatbot with the longest context globally. This enables the chatbot to process extensive information, including lengthy documents of up to 1,500 pages, emails, videos, and codebases in the future.
AI Capabilities
With Gemini Advanced, users can leverage AI to analyze multiple large documents, summarize emails, and more. Additionally, Gemini will be integrated into Google Messages for English users on Android devices with 6GB of RAM or higher.
Google emphasizes the versatility of Gemini, stating that users can utilize the app for various tasks such as planning events, creating recipes, crafting social media content, and receiving assistance on the go through text, speech, or images.
