A California federal judge expressed skepticism on Friday concerning certain defenses raised in OpenAI's trademark battle against a man operating a website named "open.ai." The judge repeatedly questioned the man's counsel during a hearing, stating that it is "incredible" for him to claim that the court cannot legally compel him to transfer the domain if he does not own the mark.
