A live demonstration on Instagram reels displayed seamless translation between English and Spanish, accurately simulating the voices and lip movements of creators to match the translations.

Having previously tested the AI dubbing on Latin American and U.S. influencer content, Meta plans to expand these capabilities to encompass more languages and creators. The overarching objective is to enhance accessibility to a broader audience, as outlined on Meta's official website.

Meta Ray-Ban Smart Glasses Integration

Mark Zuckerberg further highlighted the potential of Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses during the conference. Engaging in a multilingual conversation with UFC fighter Brandon Moreno, Zuckerberg utilized the glasses' AI dubbing functions to facilitate real-time translation through open-ear speakers. Launched in September, the smart glasses boast camera, calling, and messaging features.

Besides audio dubbing, the conference also introduced new picture-editing functions within the Meta platform. Users can now manipulate images, such as changing outfits in photos. YouTube, on the other hand, announced plans to provide automatic dubbing capabilities to hundreds of thousands of creators in the coming months. The platform will also expand its language offerings to include Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Italian, enhancing accessibility for a global user base.

Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses will soon integrate speech translation capabilities through speakers embedded within the glasses themselves, further bridging language barriers for users.
