Elon Musk Withdraws Lawsuit Against ChatGPT-Maker OpenAI
After more than three months of legal battle, Elon Musk has decided to withdraw his lawsuit against OpenAI, the organization he co-founded but stepped away from in 2018. Musk, who now owns the rival AI startup xAI, filed the lawsuit in late February in California state court. He accused OpenAI of deviating from its original open-source mission and prioritizing profits for Microsoft over the betterment of humanity.
The lawsuit brought to light internal emails from Musk to OpenAI leaders between 2015 and 2018, urging them to seek funding. Despite the ongoing legal battle, Musk chose to dismiss the suit on Tuesday, leading to its eventual dismissal in court as confirmed by CNBC.

Legal Proceedings
The lawsuit could have proceeded to a hearing in San Francisco where a judge would have ruled on the matter. However, Musk's decision to drop the suit led to its resolution without further legal intervention. OpenAI had already moved to dismiss Musk's claims before his withdrawal.
Post-Lawsuit Actions
Although the legal battle has come to an end, Musk continues to publicly criticize OpenAI. Recently, he publicly denounced Apple's decision to collaborate with OpenAI and integrate ChatGPT into the iPhone. Musk even went as far as threatening to ban Apple devices within his companies as he expressed concerns about data security.

In previous instances, Musk has been vocal about his skepticism towards the AI efforts of companies like Google, OpenAI, and Meta. He further solidified his stance by successfully raising $6 billion for his AI startup last month.
