Driving Innovation: Google Cloud's Presence in India

Google Cloud India Expands Horizons To Business Transformation

India-based Jobs & Professional Networking Platform Partners with Google

India is among the fastest-growing markets for Google in the cloud services segment, with Google Cloud India Vice President and Country Managing Director, Bikram Singh Bedi, stating that the tech giant is looking to partner with companies in their business transformation through its offerings.

Bedi highlighted the 'increased adoption' of Google Cloud India's offerings across various segments, including the public sector, small and medium businesses, startups, and digital-native companies. He mentioned that cloud services have now moved from being one of the technologies to be used to the center stage.

Partnerships and Innovations

Google Cloud recently announced a plan to integrate Beckn-enabled open networks' power with Gemini (Google's GenAI chatbot) through an open-source Gemini Agent Framework for Indian businesses and users. This framework, fueled by Google's AI model Gemini, allows users to search and discover listings across different sectors like agriculture and skilling seamlessly.

One of the first apps to offer this agent is Glance, providing its 235 million Android users with access to a wealth of knowledge, market linkages, and formal credit all in one place. Additionally, Google Cloud is collaborating with the EkStep Foundation to create 'DPI in a box', a plug-and-play model based on open networks, identity, digital credentials, and other Digital Public Goods to export India's unique digital infrastructure architecture to other nations.

AI-Powered Innovations

At the tenth edition of the 'Google for India' event in New Delhi, Google announced various AI-powered innovations, including Indian language capabilities for Gemini Live, updates for Google Lens, Google Maps, Google Cloud, and Google Pay. Bedi emphasized Google Cloud's commitment to partnering with Indian businesses and innovators to leverage the transformative power of AI.

Through initiatives like the open-source Gemini Agent Framework and collaborations on 'DPI in a box', Google Cloud aims to advance India's digital landscape and promote digital inclusion.
