Google Adds Gemini-Powered 'Add To Calendar' Button In Gmail
Google has integrated the AI feature Gemini into its tools to enhance user experience. In a recent update to Workspace, users can now easily add appointments from Gmail to their calendar with just a single click of the 'Add to Calendar' button.
The new button will be prominently displayed at the top of emails, next to the 'Summarise' button. Users will also find the calendar option within Gmail threads, enabling them to quickly create appointments with a simple click.
Streamlined Appointment Confirmation
Upon clicking the 'Add to Calendar' button, the Gemini sidebar will open to confirm the appointment details. Users have the flexibility to double-check the information and make any necessary amendments using the edit button within the Gemini window.
This new feature reduces the number of steps required to create an appointment, offering a more seamless user experience. However, the button will not appear in messages that already have calendar integration, such as flight bookings, as they are automatically added to Google Calendar without AI assistance.

Rollout Details
While the 'Add to Calendar' button is set to be launched today, it may take up to two weeks to be available to all users. Currently, this feature is limited to the English language and the Gmail web interface, accessible only to users with premium subscription plans.
