In addition to Murati, two other top executives, Chief Research Officer Bob McGrew and research leader Barret Zoph, are also leaving OpenAI. These departures were announced by CEO Sam Altman. Altman emphasized that the decisions were made independently and amicably.

These recent departures add to the list of high-profile exits from OpenAI. President and co-founder Greg Brockman is currently on a sabbatical until the end of the year.
