Introducing ChatGPT's Advanced Voice Mode
The latest ChatGPT update for macOS and Windows desktop apps brings a game-changing feature to desktop users worldwide - the Advanced Voice Mode (AVM). Previously exclusive to mobile platforms, AVM now offers a compact, floating window experience, departing from its original full-screen design.
Enhanced User Experience
Unlike earlier alpha builds, AVM now replaces the primary ChatGPT window, providing a seamless integration rather than operating as a separate companion window. A new voice setting has been introduced in the menu, serving as a shortcut to system voice settings on macOS, eliminating the need for additional app-specific configurations.
Recently, the first AVM voice clip was created via the ChatGPT app, marking a significant milestone in this update.
This feature, although still under development, now has the capability to generate an actual file that can be downloaded. It records the last 25 seconds of a voice conversation into a video file, allowing users to preserve important dialogues.
While most features of this update are now accessible to users, the Voice Clips feature remains a work in progress. Designed to enable users to save short audio clips of ChatGPT interactions, this functionality captures the essence of the last 25 seconds of the conversation.
These clips are watermarked to indicate their origin in ChatGPT and facilitate easy sharing. However, the user interface for this feature appears incomplete at times, occasionally displaying as blank, suggesting that further refinements are required before a full release.
Voice Clips is a feature that holds immense promise but is yet to reach its full potential.
Stay tuned for updates as ChatGPT continues to revolutionize the way we interact with AI technology.
