QPiAI, is a subsidiary of Qpi Technology & are trying to discover the most optimal AI and Quantum systems in multiple industries including Life sciences, Healthcare, Finance & even Space. They are planning to vertically integrate Quantum software, Hardware, and Applications to deliver end-to-end Quantum solutions to enterprises with on-prem deployments and secure cloud access. They have subsidiaries in USA & Finland. With recent preseries-A funding of $6.5 million, they are planning to scale their 25Qubits roadmap to 1000Qubits. Currently they list QpiAI Sense™, as one of their product which can control & readout up to 16 Qubits. They seem to favor superconducting Quantum computer & talk about Full Stack Architecture which is scalable. However, it must be noted that, I am not convinced about the Quantum hardware side. QPiAI offerings seem to be more on the software side. I believe the funding will help them to better showcase their hardware prowess next year.
History of the Dishwasher Invention
Nowadays Dishwasher is a common place in most of the houses. The modern dishwasher exists because not one but two people got irked with their situation. The first invention was patented by Joel Houghton in 1850. Houghton, a farmer from Illinois, was always “irked” when it comes to washing dishes by hand. So he invented a wooden machine with a hand-turned wheel that splashed water on dishes. Its almost 175 years & we know that products get iterated with new modifications for such a long time. The next notable invention was a gear mechanism added in 1865, by a man named L.A. Alexander. However, this also did not succeed. Finally, the dishwasher which was close to the form we use now was the brainchild of Josephine Cochrane. But she decided to make the dishwasher usable. In 1885, Josephine filed her first patent as “J.G. Cochran.” In 1886, she and a young mechanic named George Butters worked on a prototype. Her design was the first to use water pressure to do the cleaning, along with racks specifically designed to hold dishes in place and did not require the user to pour boiling water over the dishes, as previous machines had. It even allowed soap water draining. In Dec-1886, Cochrane received a patent for her “Dish Washing Machine.” It was costly, and only establishments like hotels were able to afford Josephine's Dishwasher. It was only after the 1960s the mass production reduced the cost to make the dishwasher a common item in houses.
Worrying 2024 Energy Data
I wrote that the Silver Bullet for AI taking over humans is Energy. Its also evident that AI technology will not take over the world, in its current form. However, AI Buzz is everywhere & it has reached people from all walks of life. Technology companies around the world now depend on AI in their manifesto, to get their stock boosted. This makes the case to pursue & power the AI tech, at its current despondent form by burning up our resources. We will start with a gist on what Hardware Technology companies like AMD, Intel & NVIDIA have in their arsenal for powering AI.
Instead of talking about AI performance specification, I will target the energy demands put forward by these semiconductor chips. Then we will dive into the energy providing industry. We will see how things are getting turned upside down for powering AI data centers. Finally lets check on people rising against data-centers & possible solutions.
