Eastsoft, an AI service company, recently revealed that it has become a member of 'C2PA', a global coalition that has established standards for AI watermark technology. This significant development took place on the 8th of the month.

What is C2PA?

Established in 2021, C2PA is spearheaded by leading organizations such as Adobe, BBC, Microsoft, and Intel. Notable corporations like Google, Amazon, OpenAI, Microsoft (MS), Canon, and Fujifilm are also actively participating in C2PA. The primary goal of C2PA is to develop technical standards that enable the identification of the origin of digital content, particularly images. For instance, Open AI has integrated C2PA watermark technology into its image generation service, DALL-E3.

Eastsoft's Involvement

Eastsoft is the second Korean entity to join C2PA following Naver, which became a member in July. Eastsoft highlighted its commitment to AI ethics and global engagement capabilities. The company has enforced measures such as watermark insertion and the prohibition of unethical keywords in AI-generated content. With its participation in C2PA, Eastsoft aims to concentrate on establishing and promoting global technology standards for the ethical utilization of the AI-human technology it offers.

Focus on Ethical AI Practices

Eastsoft is presently collaborating with the Korea Institute for Information and Communication Policy (KISDI), a national research institute, to develop a self-assessment framework for AI ethics in the realm of video synthesis. The company is particularly emphasizing its AI-human service, 'Person Dot AE (PERSO.ai)'. Jeong Sang-won, CEO of Eastsoft, emphasized the growing importance of AI ethics in the international market, stating it is a prerequisite for expanding services. Sang-won pledged increased efforts to ensure the safe integration and utilization of various AI services anchored on AI-human capabilities in society.
