Man makes headlines after winning the lottery with ChatGPT
A Thai man named Patthawikorn Boonrin has recently gained worldwide attention after claiming that he won a lottery using numbers generated by the AI chatbot ChatGPT. As per a report by Mashable, Boonrin revealed that he input a few hypothetical questions and some winning numbers from previous years into the system, and the chatbot provided him with some winning numbers- 57, 27, 29, and 99. To his surprise, he won THB2,000 (US$59) using these numbers, proving the AI chatbot's power in delivering results.
According to Boonrin, he had previously used ChatGPT to generate lottery numbers on several occasions, all of which were successful. He even shared that the bot had reminded him that winning the lottery was all about luck and instructed him not to be too obsessed with his new hobby and to go out and do something like exercise.
Thanks to his recent success, Boonrin has created a TikTok account where he demonstrates how he uses ChatGPT to try and strike lottery gold repeatedly. His account has gone viral, and many are following him to see if he can replicate his success, particularly with more significant amounts of money. If he succeeds, it could prompt lottery companies to change their approach to their business.
The question remains, was Boonrin's win just dumb luck, or could ChatGPT predict winning numbers? If it could, can the process be replicated by anyone resulting in many winners in the future? These are all valid questions that are yet to be answered. However, what is certain is that Boonrin's story has left many intrigued and questioning the power of AI in the world of gambling.
