Scared of Leaking Data to ChatGPT? Microsoft Tests a Private Version

The rise of artificial intelligence chatbots has been transforming the business landscape. However, not everyone is comfortable using these technologies, especially when it comes to handling confidential information.

OpenAI's ChatGPT has been successful with some businesses, which use it to automate tasks. However, banks and other companies have been apprehensive about using this technology. They are concerned that employees might inadvertently disclose confidential information while using the chatbot.

To address these concerns, Microsoft, which has exclusive rights to resell OpenAI’s technology, is launching a private version of ChatGPT. This version runs on dedicated cloud servers and keeps the data separate from those of other customers. As a result, customers can be assured that their data will not leak to the main ChatGPT system.

According to sources, Microsoft’s Azure cloud server unit plans to release the private version of ChatGPT later this quarter. However, this additional security comes at a cost. The product could cost as much as 10 times more than the regular version of ChatGPT.

Microsoft's move is expected to win over companies that are hesitant to use AI chatbots due to security risks. By offering a private version of ChatGPT, businesses can avoid the risks associated with using a chatbot that shares data with other customers.
