Snoop Dogg Joins Others Who Have Reportedly Secured Licensing Deals with Meta AI

As trends continue to arise in tech, Snoop Dogg doesn’t seem to miss a beat. Over the past few years, the Hip-Hop legend and businessman has made a name for himself in cryptocurrency, Web3, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and the metaverse, as previously shared by AFROTECH.

Additionally, Snoop Dogg has been adamant about staying informed. Back in May, during the 2023 Milken Institute Global Conference, he was outspoken about having questions on whether or not he should invest in artificial intelligence (AI). It appears that Snoop Dogg has had his questions answered as he is a part of a new AI-driven partnership. As AFROTECH previously reported, Snoop Dogg is among the celebrities that have launched an AI chatbot with Meta. Fellow AI characters include Dwyane Wade, Naomi Osaka, Chris Paul, Tom Brady, and more.

Meta AI Assistant Expands To WhatsApp, Messenger, And Instagram

According to Boardroom, the partnership is paying off for Snoop Dogg along with others. “The stars have allowed Meta to use their likeness for fictional AI characters Facebook and Instagram users to interact with in exchange for licensing deals worth up to $5 million. The functionality dropped across Meta properties, including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, on Oct. 4,” the outlet states.

Additionally, Meta AI — available on WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram — isn’t only dedicated to answering users’ questions, according to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. “We’ve been creating AIs that have more personality, opinions, and interests, and are a bit more fun to interact with. Along with Meta AI, there are 28 more AIs that you can message on WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram,” the company detailed. “You can think of these AIs as a new cast of characters – all with unique backstories.”
