Zalando Announces AI Fashion Assistant Powered by ChatGPT for Online Platform
Zalando, a leading European fashion e-commerce platform, has confirmed that it will be adding a new AI-powered fashion assistant to its online platform. The chatbot will use state-of-the-art generative artificial intelligence technology, known as ChatGPT, to help customers find and select fashion items based on their queries and fashion terminologies.
The new technology will provide customers with a personalized shopping experience by helping them find the right products and fashion items. Merchants can create personalized shopping experiences, increase customer purchase intent, and minimize the risk of returns by leveraging AI technologies to provide personalized product recommendations, virtual try-ons, chatbots for customer service, and predictive analytics for inventory management.
The beta version of Zalando’s new fashion assistant will be available to selected customers in Austria, Germany, Ireland, and the United Kingdom by spring, available in both English and German languages.
Zalando plans to continue developing its generative AI applications, allowing it to potentially add personalized recommendations based on a customer’s brand preferences, sizes, and fashion and beauty advice or outfit creation. The new feature is in line with the online fashion platform’s aim of improving the customer experience and making it easier for customers to access the products they love.
Zalando joins other online platforms in deploying generative AI tools to help shoppers sort through a vast range of products. For example, Mercari, a marketplace platform for second-hand items, has added a ChatGPT-powered shopping assistant that provides product recommendations based on customers’ chat prompts.
