Meta to introduce AI chatbots on Instagram - Dunya News
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that Meta will soon launch AI chatbots on Instagram, created by users through Meta AI Studio. This new initiative will begin trials in the United States. The AI chatbots aim to help creators and businesses interact seamlessly with their followers and customers on the platform.

Character.AI, a chatbot company supported by a16z, concurrently introduced a feature that permits users to engage with AI avatars through calls. Zuckerberg highlighted that these AI chatbots will be clearly marked as such to ensure transparency for users.
According to Zuckerberg, the early test of the AI studio will lead to the appearance of AI characters from favorite creators and interest-based AIs on Instagram. These AI chatbots will initially be visible in messaging and will be identified as AI to maintain clarity for users.
Zuckerberg emphasized the collaboration with creators like meme account Wasted and tech innovator Don Allen Stevenson III, who have tested early versions of creator-designed chatbots. The ultimate goal is to enable every creator and small business on the platform to develop their AI chatbot for interaction with their community and customers.
Utilizing AI Tools
Creators can leverage these AI tools to engage with their followers, especially when they are unable to personally respond to all messages. Zuckerberg described the development of AI avatars as an evolving "art form" and expressed confidence that their effectiveness will improve over time with user feedback.
Meta plans to pilot the feature initially with around 50 creators and a limited number of users, with a gradual expansion in the following months. The company aims for full deployment by August, following the introduction of AI studio capabilities at last year's developer conference, primarily focused on empowering businesses to create customized chatbots.
