Aria, which was introduced last year, acts as an AI assistant, handling user queries, coding, and various tasks. Instead of relying on a single AI model, Aria selects the most suitable model for each specific task. With the addition of Gemini, Opera ensures that users receive the most up-to-date information along with improved performance.
Enhanced User Experience
Aria is available across all Opera browsers, including the gaming-centric Opera GX. The Gemini family comprises different models with various capabilities and sizes. For instance, Gemini Nano is the smallest and is primarily designed for mobile devices, while Gemini Pro 1.5 and Gemini Pro 1.5 Flash fall under the medium-sized category. The most advanced model, Gemini Ultra, powers the Gemini chatbot.
Conversational Interaction
Through this integration, Opera users can now interact with Aria in a more conversational manner, with the added capability of Aria reading responses aloud. Google's text-to-audio AI models enable this feature, similar to ChatGPT's Read Aloud feature, albeit without the Sky voice, which OpenAI recently removed.
