OpenAI Unveils New Chat History and Data Management Settings
OpenAI has recently announced new privacy options for ChatGPT. These options will provide users with an easier way to manage their data. The company also hopes that this new feature will provide users more control over which conversations can be used to train their models.
The new feature allows ChatGPT users to turn off chat history, enabling them to select which conversations can be used to train OpenAI's models. Once the user has toggled off the chat history, the conversations will no longer appear in the user's conversation history sidebar. This new feature offers an easier way to manage data than OpenAI's existing opt-out process.
OpenAI has mentioned that they retain the conversations for 30 days to review only when needed for abuse before permanently deleting them from the system. This ensures that users' data stays safe and secure.
Aside from this new feature, OpenAI is working on a "ChatGPT Business" subscription for users who need greater control over their data management. By default, user data from their business subscription will not be used to train models. The subscription will be available in the coming months.
OpenAI has also introduced a new "export" option in settings, enabling users to export their ChatGPT data. Users will receive an email with their conversation history and other relevant information.
These new features will give users greater control over their data and provide a safer environment to chat with OpenAI's models.
