Microsoft has added Bing with ChatGPT to SwiftKey keyboard, allowing users to access Bing's chatbot directly from their phone's keyboard. According to Microsoft CTO of mobile and commerce, Pedram Rezaei, the feature will begin rolling out to SwiftKey beta users starting from April 7 onwards. However, it is currently limited to the SwiftKey beta channel, and iOS users cannot yet use Bing with ChatGPT on SwiftKey as there is no beta app for iOS.
To set up Bing with ChatGPT for SwiftKey keyboard, first download the SwiftKey beta app from the Google Play Store. Next, enable SwiftKey and select SwiftKey. After that, log into your Microsoft account to get access to the new Bing with ChatGPT feature. Once Swiftkey is set up, a Bing icon will appear in the upper left corner of your keyboard. By tapping that Bing icon, users will have access to “Search,” “Tone,” and “Chat” options.
While the “Search” option is for Bing search directly from the keyboard, “Tone” allows users to type into a text box and have Bing with ChatGPT rewrite it in several tones from professional to social post. The “Chat” option, on the other hand, opens up a window that allows users to access Bing with ChatGPT directly. This gives users a lot of power to make use of the full version of Bing Chat, like writing an email draft or copying the texts that Bing with ChatGPT has rewritten.
It’s worth mentioning that Bing with ChatGPT is not new to Microsoft apps, as it is already available in the Edge, Bing, and Skype apps for mobile. If users don’t have access to Bing with ChatGPT yet, they will need to join the Bing with ChatGPT waitlist, but there shouldn't be a long waiting time since Microsoft has already made Bing with ChatGPT available to everyone.
