Meta and Reuters reach first AI news agreement - Cointime
The parent company of Facebook and Instagram, Meta, has been in a partnership with Reuters for several years. This collaboration aims to integrate artificial intelligence chat functions into the social media platforms. According to Axios sources, starting from October 25th, Meta's AI chatbots will be able to extract Reuters news to provide users with answers to their questions about current events.
This new feature will be available to US users on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger through Meta's AI assistant. With this integration, Meta's artificial intelligence will have the capability to directly access and link to Reuters news articles when responding to relevant inquiries.
While the specifics of the transaction have not been disclosed, including any details regarding licenses for training Meta's large language model (LLM) known as Llama, this agreement marks a significant milestone in the realm of AI-powered news dissemination.
