Billionaire Mark Cuban Compares ChatGPT With Early Internet
Mark Cuban, the owner of Dallas Mavericks, compared the introduction of ChatGPT, an AI chatbot developed by OpenAI, to the early days of the internet. He compared the impact it will have to that of the internet, saying "everyone knew". In a post on Twitter, Cuban encouraged everyone to try out the AI technology available today, saying that "it will go from being perceived as difficult, to being recognized as being fundamental and used by everyone. If you haven't tried it, you should."
Recently, Cuban highlighted the importance of AI in another Twitter conversation by saying that "there are two kinds of companies in the world. Those who are great at AI, and everyone else." He stated that the impact of Blockchain technology, which underpins Bitcoin, was less impactful than AI.
Cuban demonstrated the power of ChatGPT by the questions it could generate, as it was able to ask the same questions that some sports writers do after games. He asked ChatGPT to emulate being an NBA sports reporter and ask questions to a team that just lost a first-round playoff series to the lowest-seeded rival.
The entrepreneur has previously stated that we are just in the "first innings" of what is going to happen with AI interactive models.
