Man Who Used ChatGPT To Generate Random Numbers Wins Lottery
Winning the lottery is often considered pure luck, where individuals curate specific numbers in hopes of winning a grand prize. However, a recent TikTok video has been gaining traction after a Singaporean man, Aaron Tan, revealed that he won a small Toto Lottery using the artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, ChatGPT. The idea that this game might not always depend on luck is gaining traction.
Aaron Tan requested a set of seven numerals between one and 49, and ChatGPT allocated the digits 12, 21, 28, 26, 42, 44, and 47 to him. Deciding to use the numbers to test his luck, Tan purchased a Toto Lottery on May 4th, with a grand prize of SGD 2,400,000 (approximately RM8,040,000). To his delight and surprise, three out of the seven numbers matched the grand prize.
After posting the TikTok video, Tan revealed that he won a small prize of SGD 50 (approximately RM168). Some TikTok users reacted humorously towards Tan's incredible odds, with one user jokingly saying, "They probably pick the winning numbers using ChatGPT too." While another user stated that they will also try it out.
ChatGPT is an AI language model developed by OpenAI, capable of generating human-like text. Aaron Tan's TikTok video reveals how AI is changing our lives and the way we think about luck and chance.
