WhatsApp To Introduce Personalized AI Avatars Soon
WhatsApp is currently working on a new feature that will allow users to create personalized AI avatars of themselves, which can then be placed in various virtual environments. As reported by The Verge, this feature was discovered in the WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.24.14.7. It utilizes a combination of user-provided images, text prompts, and Meta's AI Llama model to generate these unique avatars.
Customizable Virtual Settings
According to the screenshots shared by The Verge, users will be able to visualize themselves "in any setting, from the forest to outer space." The images created are said to be similar to those produced by popular AI tools like Lensa AI or Snapchat's "Dreams" selfie feature. 
Creating Personalized Avatars
To create these personalized avatars, WhatsApp users will first need to upload photos of themselves, which will be used as reference images by Meta AI. Users can then generate their avatars by giving commands such as "Imagine me" along with a description of the desired environment in Meta AI chat or by using "@Meta AI imagine me..." in WhatsApp conversations.
Optional Feature with Privacy Controls
It is expected that this feature will be optional and users will have to manually enable it in the WhatsApp settings. Additionally, users will have the ability to remove the reference images stored in Meta AI settings at any time, ensuring their privacy and control over personal data.
