Japan will not Regulate ChatGPT
The Japanese government is not taking into consideration the regulation of artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT, according to Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno’s statement at a parliamentary committee meeting on Friday. Although the AI tool is raising concerns in several countries, such as Italy, which temporarily prohibited the utilization of the technology, the Japanese government is not planning to regulate ChatGPT. Economic security minister Sanae Takaichi stated that there is no need to regulate ChatGPT, while highlighting the importance of measures to decrease the risk of personal data leakage concerning the technology.
