OpenAI launches new 'Tasks' feature in ChatGPT to schedule work efficiently
OpenAI has introduced a new feature for ChatGPT called Tasks. The new feature allows users to schedule reminders, updates, and alerts, resulting in more personalized outputs from ChatGPT. Currently in beta, the Tasks feature is being rolled out globally for premium users.
Key Features
With the new Tasks feature, users can conveniently schedule various activities using simple, natural language prompts. ChatGPT is now capable of providing daily weather updates, reminding users of essential dates like passport renewals or ticket sales, and even sending entertaining updates such as knock-knock jokes for children every evening. Once scheduled, ChatGPT will automatically execute these tasks at the specified times, making it a valuable tool for managing daily activities.
How to Use the Feature
To make use of this feature, eligible users need to select “GPT-4o with scheduled tasks” from the model picker and describe the desired task along with its timing. While tasks can be set up on any platform, they can currently only be managed and modified through the web version via a “Tasks” section in the profile menu. Notifications for scheduled tasks can be accessed on the web, desktop, and mobile devices.
The feature also includes a level of automation, with ChatGPT proposing tasks based on user interactions. Users have the option to accept or decline these suggestions, enabling the assistant to better meet individual requirements.
Availability
The Tasks beta is accessible to premium subscribers, encompassing Plus, Team, and Pro plans. The cost for Plus subscription is $20 per month. OpenAI will gradually introduce the update, starting with web users over the upcoming days.
