Google I/O 2025 Dates Confirmed, Android 16 and Gemini AI Announcements Expected
Google has officially confirmed that Google I/O 2025, the company's annual developer-focused conference, will take place on May 20 and 21. The event will be held at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California. Registration is now open for both offline attendance and online participation through live streams.

This two-day event will kick off with a keynote session led by Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai. The keynote typically unveils major hardware and software updates planned for the year ahead. The keynote session is scheduled to begin at 10am PT (11:30 pm IST).
Anticipated highlights of Google I/O 2025 include announcements related to Android 16 and Gemini AI technologies. Speculations suggest that new features in Android 16, including the predictive back animation, will be a focal point. Additionally, Google is expected to introduce the latest iteration of its Gemini AI model, Gemini 2.0.

Recently, Google rolled out the Android 16 Beta 1 update for compatible Pixel devices. This update included the Live Updates feature, which displays real-time updates for various activities, reminiscent of Apple's Live Activities feature.
Furthermore, Android 16 Beta 1 brought the predictive back animation to the back button, extending this functionality beyond gesture-based navigation to three-button navigation as well.
