Google set to bring ads in search AI Overviews | Technology News ...
Google has announced that it will start testing search and shopping ads within its AI-generated answers in the U.S. This move comes shortly after the company introduced the AI Overviews feature at its annual I/O conference. The ads will be displayed in a 'sponsored' section within the AI Overview, tailored to the relevance of the user's query.
The tech giant, owned by Alphabet, is expanding its advertising reach beyond traditional search ads to leverage emerging generative AI technology. By integrating AI into its search engine, Google aims to enhance its advertising revenue, which accounted for a significant portion of its $61.7 billion in advertising sales during the first quarter of the year.
Continuous Innovation
Google is committed to experimenting with new ad formats and gathering feedback from advertisers to refine its approach. At the recent I/O conference, Alphabet demonstrated its ongoing investment in AI technology across various sectors, such as the enhancement of the Gemini chatbot and updates to its flagship search engine.
While Google focuses on integrating AI into its advertising strategy, Bollywood fans were concerned about superstar Shah Rukh Khan's health. The actor was hospitalized in Ahmedabad due to a heatstroke while attending an IPL match between the Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad with his children and fellow actors. Despite the health scare, Khan was later seen celebrating his team's victory and even inadvertently disrupted a post-match show, for which he promptly apologized. Fans and the media eagerly await further updates on his condition.
