edX Debuts Two AI-Powered Learning Assistants Built on ChatGPT
edX, an online learning platform, has announced the launch of two AI-powered innovations: the edX plugin for ChatGPT and edX Xpert, an AI-powered learning assistant on the edX platform. Both tools use OpenAI technology to provide academic support and course discovery for learners.
edX Plugin for ChatGPT
edX has launched the ChatGPT plugin, which allows users to discover educational programs across the platform's library of 4,200 courses. The plugin also provides in-depth learning resources for advanced subjects like Circuits and Electronics. As users engage with ChatGPT on topics that interest them, the plugin will provide real-time course recommendations, content, videos, and quizzes.
edX Xpert
edX has also launched edX Xpert, an AI-powered learning assistant embedded within the edX platform. Xpert uses the ChatGPT API to provide personalized academic and customer support to learners in real-time. This feature enhances edX's student support services, which aim to provide the best outcomes for learners.
The Xpert learning assistant offers conversational support for a range of learner needs. It works alongside edX's career coaches, student success managers, tutors, and 24/7 live technical support specialists to provide learners with an added layer of real-time guidance. Xpert is currently in pilot, and new features will be released over time.
