Microsoft has been making the Bing chatbot more helpful, particularly in the areas of traveling and cooking. According to their blog post, Microsoft has improved the accuracy of citations that ChatGPT-powered AI uses for those two topics.
Their recent improvement involved using "grounding data" from recipe content providers to improve recipes' accuracy and citation. As a result, citations direct users to the recipe provider's site instead of Bing, reducing the number of prematurely ended chat sessions.
Microsoft has also reduced the amount of "end-of-conversation triggers" to enhance users' experience. With fewer conversation-ending errors, Bing's chatbot has become smarter and more reliable.
This tinkering on updating Bing chatbot is crucial since it is continuously improving in specific categories like local area queries, math problems, and breaking news queries. This is in contrast to Google's rival AI, Bard, which is getting few meaningful updates. Google is reallocating its staff to focus on Bard instead of Google Assistant, said sources.
