Experience the Future of Video Chatting with a ChatGPT AI

You can video chat with a ChatGPT AI — here's what it looks like ...

If you're tired of videoconferencing as yourself, there's a new app that lets you video chat with an AI avatar. Call Annie is an iOS 16 app that turns ChatGPT into a female avatar named Annie. Unlike other AI avatars, Annie's visual interface is quite impressive and not glitchy at all. Call Annie requires at least an iPhone 12 or a later model to get started as it draws power from Apple's Neural Engine.

According to the developers, talking to Annie face-to-face in real-time is faster than typing and reading text. You can use the app to search the web, learn, or even have a virtual companion. Annie can also be your tour guide. The app's developers note that all conversations remain confidential, and they don't sell data to third parties.

Some Call Annie users report that the ChatGPT-fueled avatar insists that its name is Samantha and not Annie. The developers say it will be fixed soon. Once you install the app, it lets you save the AI's number from the app's settings section. For folks interested in testing the more advanced capabilities, the TestFlight program for Call Annie can be accessed from Animato's official Discord channel.

There's another app that uses ChatGPT technology called ParagraphAI. It's an AI writing app that allows you to respond to texts, emails, Twitter DMs, and more without manually typing out messages yourself.

While these AI avatars and apps may sound like technology from a sci-fi movie, it's clear that the world of AI is expanding rapidly. Who knows, maybe one day, we'll all have our own personal AI avatars for video conferencing!
