Google News Showcase Launches in Croatia
Google News Showcase, our curated online news experience and licensing program, is now available in Croatia. For more than two decades, Google has been collaborating with journalists and news publishers to promote a healthy, independent, and diverse news ecosystem. We have been committed to assisting publishers in Croatia and throughout Europe in finding new ways to connect with audiences and engage readers online.
News Showcase Partners in Croatia
Today, we are excited to introduce the launch of Google News Showcase in Croatia. Leading media publishers such as 24sata, Večernji list, Index.hr, and Net.hr have already joined Google News Showcase in Croatia. Participating publishers will create News Showcase panels that offer readers more interactive news experiences and direct them to full articles on the publishers' websites. This initiative allows publishers to strengthen their relationships with readers and have greater control over presentation and branding.
Global Impact of News Showcase
Worldwide, we have established News Showcase partnerships with over 2,800 publications. With the introduction of News Showcase in Croatia, the program is now operational in 31 countries, including 10 in the Baltics and Central and Eastern Europe. News Showcase panels from Croatian partners are now visible on Google News and Discover for both Android and iOS users.
Supporting Journalism in Croatia
The launch of News Showcase in Croatia underscores our ongoing support for journalism and collaboration with news organizations. In recent years, we have collaborated with various associations to aid publishers, journalists, and readers in Croatia. We are committed to working together with journalists and publishers in Croatia to combat misinformation, develop new technologies, and enhance reader revenue.
