This ChatGPT-Based Skyrim VR Mod Adds Natural Conversations
Skyrim VR enthusiasts have something new to look forward to with the latest mod developed by Art from the Machine. ChatGPT has been integrated into the game, allowing players to have natural conversations with NPCs. This mod is updated with lip-syncing and in-game awareness, making it an immersive experience like never before.
The NPCs in the game are equipped with xVASynth (text-to-speech) and Whisper (speech-to-text) to help OpenAI's chatbot, and as a result, they are now aware of their current location, time of day, and items picked up by the player during the conversation. This ensures that no two responses are ever the same and enhances the overall experience for the player.
Art from the Machine spoke about their experience, "When everything is in place, it is an incredibly surreal experience to be able to sit down and talk to these characters in VR. Nothing takes me out of the experience more than hearing the same repeated voice lines, and with this, I couldn't go back to playing without this."
