Connectors in ChatGPT: Access Gmail and Record Meetings
OpenAI has recently introduced a new feature called ‘Connectors’ in beta for ChatGPT, allowing users to seamlessly integrate various online services. Among these new connectors are Gmail, Dropbox, Box, Google Drive, Google Calendar, HubSpot, SharePoint, and Outlook Calendar. With ChatGPT Plus, users can connect these services and leverage the Deep Research agent to retrieve contextually relevant information.
For ChatGPT Team, Enterprise, and Edu users, accessing information from selected connectors is possible through regular ChatGPT search. This enhancement enables users to conduct web searches and gather internal data from different services to create detailed and contextual reports within ChatGPT, complete with in-line citations.
MCP Servers and External Data
Administrators can now create and deploy MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers within ChatGPT. This feature is currently available for ChatGPT Pro, Team, Enterprise, and Edu subscribers, enabling admins to connect ChatGPT to external data sources beyond the built-in connectors.
Meeting Record Mode
Another notable addition is the ChatGPT record mode designed for Enterprise and Edu users. This feature allows users to capture meetings, providing automatic transcription and summarization of the meeting content. Currently, this functionality is accessible through the ChatGPT macOS app, allowing processing of up to 120 minutes per session.
Overall, these recent updates primarily target business customers, offering advanced integration capabilities. However, ChatGPT Plus users can also benefit from connector integration, consolidating information from multiple sources into one convenient platform. Moreover, free users have the option to connect OneDrive and Google Drive to ChatGPT without requiring a subscription.
