How to use tasks and reminders inside ChatGPT-Troubleshooting Guide
OpenAI's ChatGPT has introduced an exciting new feature: automated task scheduling. This feature, currently in beta for paying subscribers but soon to be available to all users, enhances ChatGPT's capabilities, turning it into a versatile digital assistant. Referred to as "ChatGPT Tasks," this feature enables users to schedule automatic prompts and reminders.
How ChatGPT Tasks Work:
This feature enables users to schedule automated prompts. For instance, users can set up daily news summaries or birthday reminders. Tasks seamlessly synchronize across different devices (such as web, mobile, and soon Windows desktop apps) and function even when offline. Upon completion, notifications are triggered, which can be personalized. It's important to note that ChatGPT does not take control of your device; notifications originate within the application. Essentially, any ChatGPT function—from creating images to conducting data searches—can be automated. Tasks are managed similarly to conversations, allowing for sharing, archiving, and deletion.
Using ChatGPT Tasks:
To utilize ChatGPT Tasks, users need to select "ChatGPT-4o with scheduled tasks" from the model picker (located at the top left on desktop/web and at the top of the conversation panel on mobile devices). Natural language instructions are most effective; users can simply input commands like "tell me a joke every Friday at noon." A confirmation message will be displayed after creating a task. Users have the ability to edit or pause tasks (editing is available on desktop/web, while pausing can be done on mobile devices). An overview of tasks, along with options for editing and deletion, can be accessed through the profile picture menu on the web platform. Web users also have the option to manage notification preferences (push notifications, emails, or both) in the settings menu. Email notifications offer confirmation without continuous push alerts.
