How AI Is Revolutionizing the Creator Economy: 94.5% of Creators Use AI

Artificial intelligence (AI) tools have become a game-changer in the content creation industry. For creators who are always on the lookout for ways to streamline their creative process, AI-driven tools can be especially enticing.

In a survey released by The Influencer Marketing Factory, 94.5% of surveyed creators said they use AI, while only 5.5% said they didn't. The report is based on responses from a survey of 1,000 social media users and 660 creators over 18 based in the US.

AI Tools for Editing Content

The survey gave creators six use cases where they could choose up to three options. Editing content, generating images and videos, and creating text and captions for accessibility were the top three ways chosen by creators. RunwayML and Descript are popular software that facilitate video and audio editing, especially among podcasters. Adobe Premiere Pro has also introduced AI to help with video editing, offering features like object removal and ways to automatically cut scenes in videos.

AI Tools for Generating Images and Videos

For image generation, creators have been turning to tools like DALL-E and Midjourney, which allow them to create images from text prompts. These tools are useful for generating concepts for YouTube thumbnails and lead images for newsletters.

The Success Story of DALL-E

Tejas Hullur, a creator with almost 600,000 followers on TikTok, has successfully experimented with DALL-E. He previously told Insider, "[DALL-E] allows us to create images not only quickly, but with a cohesive branding style that we couldn't do on our own."

AI Tools for Brainstorming and Researching Content

While a smaller number of creators said they used AI to brainstorm and research content, ChatGPT, an AI chatbot, has been useful for this purpose. Creators can use ChatGPT to find new content ideas, create email templates, and even preliminary structuring of contracts and legal agreements.

The Future of AI in the Creative Work

Despite the excitement around AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Alessandro Bogliari, founder and CEO of The Influencer Marketing Factory, believes the future of AI in creative work will revolve around optimization, rather than content generation. He said, "If you're a content creator, people follow you for your storytelling, your unique point of view."

As AI becomes more prevalent in the creator economy, it is clear that creators who embrace these tools will have an edge over their competition. AI tools can help speed up the creative process, increase productivity, and produce high-quality content that resonates with their audience.
