Google Introducing "Glic" AI Feature for Chrome, Based on Gemini ...
On December 25th, data miner Leopeva64 posted an article claiming that Google is quietly testing a proprietary Gemini Live AI, the code for which is called "Glic" (Gemini Live in Chrome). From the details revealed, it is learned that this Glic AI is more full-featured, and it will be ready to go in a backend-run format, have its own separate settings page, and will need to gain access to the user's device's microphone and location. Calling out AI from a floating browser panel or side interface allows users to get insights into the site, find out more information, and more.
Google isn't the first company to integrate AI into its browsers. Microsoft has previously embedded Bing Chat in its Edge browser, though user reviews have been mixed.
This new feature is expected to offer a unique experience for Chrome users, enhancing their browsing capabilities.
