Google's 'Gems' feature has arrived: Create your own personalised AI chatbots
Earlier this year, Google hosted its I/O conference, delivering a multitude of exciting announcements over a two-hour period. Among the standout features unveiled was Gems. Now, the tech giant is launching the Gems feature, allowing users to customise Gemini and design their own personal AI chatbots.
Customise Your Gem
Google Gems empowers users to create Gems tailored to their preferences. Whether you envision a gym companion, sous chef, coding assistant, or writing mentor, the possibilities are endless. These Gems can be customised to serve as experts on specific topics or catered towards individual goals. By providing instructions and a name for your Gem, you can engage in conversations with it whenever needed.

Personalised Assistance
Describe the tasks you want your Gem to perform and how you expect it to respond. For instance, you can instruct your Gem to be your running coach, providing daily plans while maintaining a positive and motivating tone. Gemini processes these instructions to create a Gem tailored to your specific requirements. Your Gem can also store detailed instructions to simplify repetitive or complex tasks, saving you valuable time.
Google offers a selection of pre-made Gems for various scenarios, including a Learning Coach for simplifying complex topics, a Brainstormer for inspiration, a Career Guide to help you refine skills and achieve career goals, and a Coding Partner to improve coding skills.
Availability
The Google Gems feature is currently being rolled out to Gemini Advanced, Gemini Business, and Gemini Enterprise users across 150+ countries, including India, accessible on both desktop and mobile devices in multiple languages.
