OpenAI's ChatGPT was found to have a security flaw that allowed easy access to chat conversations on Mac devices. The exploit, demonstrated by Pedro José Pereira Vieito on Threads and confirmed by The Verge, revealed that ChatGPT for Mac OS was saving chat logs in plain text, making them accessible to other applications.

The Security Concern

If a user engaged in private conversations with ChatGPT containing sensitive information like financial details or passwords, these conversations could easily be accessed and saved by unauthorized apps on the user's device. This posed a significant security risk for users.
