ChatGPT Gets Privacy Overhaul in Latest Microsoft Release

Microsoft to Launch New Version of ChatGPT with Stronger Privacy Features

Microsoft is set to launch a new version of ChatGPT, in collaboration with OpenAI, for select users and enterprises with privacy concerns. The new platform aims to provide modified versions of the chatbot that address privacy concerns around the AI-powered tool. The move comes amid concerns of data theft and privacy infringement.

The ChatGPT platform has faced a lot of scrutiny since its launch in November 2022. Various companies and nations, including Samsung and Italy, have banned the use of the platform due to privacy concerns. To address these issues, OpenAI has signed a $10 billion deal with Microsoft to provide tweaked versions of the chatbot for sensitive clients and organizations.

The new version is expected to cost up to ten times more than the current ChatGPT Plus version, which currently retails at $20. Despite this, large tech companies and financial institutions that are currently prohibiting the use of ChatGPT will likely be interested in the new privacy-sensitive version of the product.

OpenAI has also introduced new measures to assure customers of the safety of their data. OpenAI CEO, Sam Altman, recently told CNBC that the company will no longer train GPT-4 on "customer's data", due to customer concerns.

Many tech leaders and politicians have raised concerns about the potential misuses of artificial intelligence. Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak fears that AI could fall into the wrong hands and be used for malicious purposes. Similarly, Google CEO Sundar Pichai has remarked that AI can be beneficial or harmful, depending on how it's used.

With the launch of the new version of ChatGPT, Microsoft and OpenAI aim to address concerns around privacy and data protection, and make the platform more accessible to sensitive clients.
