Instead of a captivating and immersive experience, attendees were greeted with a disappointing scene resembling a creepy storage warehouse. The venue featured small posters on walls and scattered plastic figurines, falling short of the promised enchanting atmosphere.
Police called to the scene
The event turned out to be such a disappointment that angry parents demanded refunds and even called the police. Children were left in tears, and attendees took to social media to express their frustration. Stuart Sinclair shared on Facebook, "What an absolute shambles of an event. The kids received 2 jelly babies and a quarter of a can of Barrs limeade."
Actors hired to portray characters at the event were equally shocked by the dismal setup. Paul Connell, who played a Willy Wonka-inspired character, expressed his disappointment, saying "My heart sank looking around … I just felt sad because I was aware of how many kids were going to be coming through."
Organizer's apology
The event organizer, House of Illuminati, issued an apology, admitting that they were devastated by the outcome of the candy-themed experience. They explained that last-minute setbacks led to a subpar event and acknowledged that they should have canceled it earlier. As a gesture of goodwill, they have promised full refunds to all attendees.
