Google I/O, the tech giant’s annual developer conference, is set to commence on May 20 and will run till May 21. With CEO Sundar Pichai, co-founder Demis Hassabis, and other executives expected to deliver significant announcements, the event will place a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence.

Google’s Gemini AI models are anticipated to be the highlight of this year’s developer conference. Along with various new features and capabilities expected to be introduced to Gemini, including the highly awaited Gemini 2.5 Pro update, other AI products from Google such as Deepmind’s Project Astra, LearnLM, and more are likely to receive significant attention.

We might also get a glimpse of Samsung’s Android XR headset, codenamed Project Moohan, which is scheduled for launch later this year as an alternative to Apple Vision Pro. Preceding I/O 2025, the company conducted a special “The Android Show” livestream, unveiling Android 16, the upcoming version of the world’s most popular mobile operating system.

With Android 16 having its own livestream a week prior to Google I/O, the conference is expected to focus on AI and various Google products like Gmail, Chrome, and Play Store. However, it remains uncertain whether these changes will be discussed during the keynote address.

Google I/O 2025 will commence at 10 AM PT or 10:30 PM IST. The event will be live-streamed on YouTube from the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View. You can watch the livestream below:

At 1:30 PM PT or 1:30 AM IST, co-founder Demis Hassabis will engage in a conversation with Alex Kantrowitz, the host of the Big Technology podcast. They are expected to delve into the impact of DeepMind’s AI on the global landscape. Google is also set to host concurrent livestreams discussing new features coming to Android, Chrome, and Google Cloud.
