Google unveils new smart glasses — here's what to expect
Google will soon be entering the smart glasses market, joining Meta in this innovative technology. At the recent Google I/O Developers conference, the tech giant introduced a range of AI advancements, including the upcoming Android XR lineup that will feature Google's version of smart glasses.
"Unlike Clark Kent, you can have superpowers when you put your glasses on," stated Shahram Izadi, vice-president of Android XR, during the conference. The Android XR products, which encompass AI headsets and AR glasses, will introduce Google Gemini to users in a seamless manner.
The new smart glasses from Google are not only feature-rich but also lightweight and designed for extended wear. According to Google, these glasses, when paired with Gemini, will have the ability to perceive and interpret your surroundings, remember your preferences, and assist you throughout the day.
The glasses are designed to function in real-world scenarios such as communicating with friends, scheduling appointments, navigating with turn-by-turn directions, and capturing photos, as highlighted by Google.

Partnering with Eyewear Brands
In order to create these innovative smart glasses, Google's development team has collaborated with renowned eyewear brands, Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. This partnership aims to blend cutting-edge technology seamlessly with stylish and comfortable eyewear designs.
Google has assured that more updates on the progress of these smart glasses will be shared in the upcoming months. Users can stay informed about the availability of these devices by following Google's announcements.
